Late Summer Wildflower Checklist

Below is a list of wildflowers whose flowers are visible in the late summer months (July – August), which you can find along the public rights of way in Adisham’s SSSI woods.

The areas covered by this list include meadow areas adjoining the woods, the woodland edges and paths leading into the woods.

The plants at the beginning of the list are generally more common in the woods and/or easily recognised; those towards the bottom are generally less common in the woods and/or harder to recognise.

Challenge yourself to find them all – and do get in touch with Watch Over Adisham’s Woods if you manage to do so!

Tips for identifying wildflowers:

Download an app such as PictureThis or LeafSnap that can identify wildflowers from images you take on your phone.

For species that are difficult to tell apart, you may want to consult a printed wildflower guide or find sources online.
